Kamraj Memorial House is dedicated to one of Tamil Nadu’s great nationalist, politician and former Chief Minister Shri Kamraj. The building celebrates the highly successful yet basic lifestyle of the patron who was exceedingly popular amongst the masses. It also provides a clear and lucid picture of the Indian political life fresh after independence. It was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.G.Ramachandran on 15th of July, 1978. Through various photos, portraits, memorabilia’s and remnants, an expression is given to the life & times of Kamaraj. The famous building is located on T.Nagar and is easily accessible from all parts of the capital city of Chennai.

Visitors shall witness a brief history of Indian politics within the historic walls of the memorial. Its interesting display of photographs captures various stages of Kamaraj’s life. Most of the photographs are displayed in the dining hall and includes his photographs in the company of great dignitaries such as Jawaharlal Nehru, Rajendra Prasad, Sarojini Naidu, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi, MG.Ramachandran, Martin Luther King and Queen Elizabeth. The bedroom belonging to Chief Minister is situated on the ground floor furnished with elegant and humble furnishings. A well furnished library housing rich collection of literature such as 'Lok sabha Debates’, '100 modern lives’, 'Churchill' and 'Doctor Zhivago' etc. are proof of the fact that even though Kamraj had to discontinue his education after a while, it could not stop him from being a well read individual. The Second Floor has a amazing display of his collection of luxurious shawls.
